Sisimiut is a municipality in southwestern Greenland within Greenland's Kitaa (West Greenland) county. Sisimiut is also the capitol town of this municipality. With 5247 inhabitants (as of 2005), it is the second largest town in Greenland. It lies 75 km north of the Arctic Circle and is Greenland's northernmost year-round ice-free port.
The municipality also contains the towns of Itilleq and Sarfannguaq. There is also the settlement of Kangerlussuaq, which has Greenland's largest airport.
