Gällivare is a Swedish municipality in Norrbotten County, in northern Sweden. Gällivare is situated at the northern end of the Inlandsbanan railway line, just about 100km north of the arctic circle.
Outside Gällivare, the ski-resort Dundret is located. The ski-resort is equipped with six lifts and ten groomed slopes along with a conference center and hotel named "Björnfällan". The ski season stretches from the end of October all the way into early may.
Gällivare also hosts an airport, (Gällivare Airport), the closest one to national parks Sarek and Padjelanta making it popular for hikers.
